What’s Happening with Paper & Packaging Products
We want to share an update regarding the recent delays that you may have experienced on some of our paper and packaging products.
Earlier this year, the imposition of new tariffs caused drastic price increases that disrupted the way many of our suppliers were placing orders. In a cost-cutting move, some suppliers temporarily suspended ordering from Chinese manufacturers. While the suspension eased immediate pricing concerns, it created a ripple effect across the supply chain.
When ordering resumed, manufacturers were faced with a sudden surge in demand all at once. Unfortunately, they weren’t able to keep up right away. This led to slowdowns in production and shipping, which had the biggest impact on paper and packaging products. As a result, we’ve seen outages and delays that have lasted longer than expected.
The good news is that these issues are starting to subside. Production is leveling out, shipments are beginning to catch up, and supply of paper and packaging products should start getting better starting in early September.
We know these products are critical to your business, and we value your patience and understanding while we do this. Rest assured that our staff is trying its best to minimize disruptions, keep you informed, and get products to you as quickly as possible.
